MUSTANG MADNESS

A big mahalo to all the brave souls who came out for MUSTANG MADNESS on Sunday, March 26, 2000 at McKenna's Windward Ford. This had to be the rainiest show yet, which probably kept us from making record-breaking entries. And it's a wonder Barry didn't get a new hairdo while setting up the PA system! It still turned out to be a successful event as the weather cleared for a good part of the day and generated as much spectator traffic as any prior show.

In honor of the upcoming Millennium, a special "M&M's" contest was held where anyone could guess the number of M&M's in a jar that was placed atop a brand new Mustang convertible in the showroom. Mike McKenna sponsored the $1,000 cash prize. Actual number of M&M's was 4,022. The winners were closest without going over:

Rain or shine, the show went on thanks to everyone's help!

This year's show welcomed 17 new members and enjoyed cameo news coverage from Channels 2 and 9. Many thanks again to all members who generously brought or sent in their monetary donations for the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation, which was in addition to the $5 entry fee donation. Our biggest thanks, of course, goes to Mike McKenna & Windward Ford, for giving us 8 consecutive auto shows! Ask yourself how many other local car clubs can brag about that kind of support? Mike and staff have continually left out the welcome mat for us. We can never thank them enough!

Moving on to bigger and better things, plans will be underway for the 9th Annual "MUSTANG MADNESS -- ALL FORD SHOW". Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this one. More updates later as they unfold.
